Well, it has been far too long since we updated the blog, so here it goes. The past couple of months have flown by (as usual). Sonya is now 18 months old and we can't believe how much like a kid she is now. She is cruising all over the place (and prefers walking to riding in a stroller), likes to chat and sing throughout the day, and finds everything fascinating! We've noticed a transition to toddler-hood (tantrums, has her own opinions), but we still think this is a fun age. We keep ourselves busy with walks outside, trips to the park, music group, and story time at the library. Its fun to watch her start to interact with other kids and she is really a social butterfly.
Our biggest event these past couple of months was a trip to the east coast. Kelly and Sonya first flew to CT to visit Grammy and Poppy for a week. This coincided with Halloween and Sonya dressed as a ladybug. We visited Grammy's school (in costume, of course) and swam in a pool for the first time! We also celebrated Grammy and Poppy's 40th anniversary with a party with friends and family. I think Sonya had a blast!
Trick or Treat!
Kelly and Sonya next headed to VA to meet up with John and visit with Grandma and Grandpa and all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Sonya loved playing with all the kids--it was non-stop action! We celebrated birthdays, ran in a family and friends fun run, and just enjoyed spending time with everyone.
Post-race relaxing
Since coming home, we've been busy getting ready for Christmas. We hope to have our tree and decorations up soon (Kelly decided she wanted to try to paint the living room--maybe not such a good idea this time of year). We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
Playing in the cold is hard work. I think I'll take a break.
